NASA is in the book constantly and having her say Nassau/Nasaw over and over again is mind numbing. Where were the people who were there during the recording sessions? Why did they not correct her? This is not something that was said once or twice because it is a book about the space program. I am not sure how this is possible? This is not a something that can be pronounced different ways.

But, the one thing that was so distracting and so frustrating (which many have mentioned in their reviews) is her inability to pronounce NASA correctly. Although frustrating, I decided to listen anyway because the story was interesting enough. You could tell from what was being read that she did not have the correct emotion to encapsulate what was going on in the book. Molly (the narrator) is very deadpan when she is reading this book. Sadly, I knew from the outset that this might be a bit of a slog. I listen to lots of books because I have a long commute, and was looking forward to Through the Glass Ceiling because stories of the space program have always interested me. But honestly, if you can, read it rather than listen to it. I enjoyed her journey to get to the astronaut program, finally reaching that goal and then flying her missions.

The story of Eileen Collins' life and career in the Air Force and as an astronaut is really interesting.
